Lost the motion, but won the case!

Judge didn't let us join the county, because he thought it was the plaintiff's motion to make. But, the uber-liberal defenders of the indigent in the boiler room succeeded in staving off possession and a monetary judgment. Go us! Celebrating at Skybar!

Success!

The team celebrates a successful trial, because we're awesome.

Trials scheduled!

Look we did get you into the courtroom! And more trials scheduled before the end of the summer. Looks like someone's practice certificate is more useful than Terrel's hanging in our office.

Live tweets from the courtroom...

One of our own is ready to serve justice. Two hearings and a trial today. Go Highlander!

I can haz cupcake!

Despite some people here not providing birthday cupcakes for everyone yesterday, we have cupcakes today. They're not homemade, but they're still awesome.

We have fresh bread...

Some Scot got up at 6am to make us fresh bread. Be jealous. Be very jealous.

Ever setting the highest standard for treats, today the Boiler Room is enjoying a selection of home made ice cream. Visit quickly, grovel hard and we might even share.

Book of the Day

Today's book of the day has a video preview

For further mocking pleasure:

The CVLAS Interns have a lack of investigatory skills or blogging skills or both. They have started a new blog at http://roomwithoutaviewcvillecvlas.blogspot.com/ instead of finding the old blog as Alex instructed. Perhaps, no CVLAS blog existed before, but that would just be sad. We will forgive them, if they post reviews of all the restaurants they try this summer.

Also, the Bunker and Birdcage interns continue to disappoint with their lack of blogging. Should we leave them at the jail when we go on our upcoming field trip as punishment?

Field Trip

The Boiler Room spent much of the morning out the office. We set up a mobile advice center in a local public housing development before heading to City Hall where a number of tenant grievances were filled.

In case you missed the subterfuge that made Bunker members sob uncontrollingly...

Keeping busy

Week two is well underway, with new cases arriving each day. A steady steam of client meetings and calls, interspersed with groundbreaking research keeps us busy. By nine o'clock this morning, we had already dispatched a crack legal team who will provide representation in a housing hearing.

Through the corridors in the Dungeon Bunker there also appears to be work underway. Perhaps we’ll hear more about it once they figure out this blogging thing.

Visits from friends

We very much enjoyed the company of the Bunker Interns who joined us for a few hours last week after they were evicted from their office to accommodate some meetings. Evictions from the Bunker appear to be a recurring annual theme; should you need representation, we do have practice expertise in this area of law.

Understandably, the exposure to natural light probably came as a shock, but please know you are welcome to visit us at any time. You can enjoy home baking while also replenishing your diminished levels of vitamin D.

Yours,

The Boiler Room.

The Boiler Room Pig has been Gentrified

Here he is in all his dapper glory. (Brought to you by an early morning trip to the craft store and valium). A pig this fine should have a name. Taking suggestions through the end of the week. Also, this means that the Bunker Room and Birdcage Interns really need to bring it, if they are going to compete with us Boiler Room Interns this summer.
